Abstract

The number of the workforce in August 2024 was 539,654 people, a decrease of 28,449 people compared to the workforce in August 2023. Likewise, the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) was recorded as having decreased by 4.51 percentage points, from 78.02 percent in August 2023 to 73.51 percent in August 2024. The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2024 was 3.67 percent, an increase of 0.57 percentage points compared to August 2023. The working population in August 2024 was 519,853 people, a decrease of 30,623 people from August 2023. The field of employment that experienced the largest decrease was Agriculture by 16,118 people. In August 2024, as many as 353,355 people (67.97 percent) worked in informal activities, down by 51,155 people compared to August 2023. As many as 45.55 percent of the working population were elementary school graduates or below/did not graduate/did not/never attended school.
